My roster is currently below the minimum players, will I have to pay any monies to add a player up to the minimum?
A team that is below the minimum player count may continue to add players up to the minimum during the season without any additional cost. This would be thirteen players for U10, eleven players for U9, and seven players for U7 and U8. Follow the steps provided below to add a player.
I have a player that plays for another Club’s SDL team and who wants to play for me now.
What must I do?
A player who is rostered with a club/team prior to the start of league play, may not participate with another club's team in league play either solely for that team or as an addition to their current team, without the current team's coach's formal consent directly to the SDL Registrar. The league has no restrictions on whether the player attends practices or participates in tournaments, and the player may change clubs between seasons. If permission is given by the current team, the player will count toward the total roster of the team and any fee due must be paid prior to the player being transferred. Teams are formed and registered to play based on the expectation that parents are willing to commit for the eight game season; both the current team's players and their opponents are impacted when a team is no longer able to compete at their requested level.
May a player participating for another Club’s SDL team guest play on another SDL team?
No. The SDL does not permit guest playing for league matches.
Can a player play for more than one team in the same club?
Yes, a player may play for more than one team within the same division for the same club. It is the sole responsibility of the club to allocate its players in a manner that is economically efficient; you must obtain a SDL USCS Player Loan form or a copy of the team’s roster to present to the opponent’s manager on game day.
How much to add a player that does not currently play on an SDL team?
The cost is $50.00 per player added.
I want to add a player for a tournament, how do I do so?
We must have a minimum of seven business days notice to roster a player. If you have a guest player that plays for another SDL team, we will move the player to your US Club Soccer roster so that you may print the roster. If you wish to add a player for the tournament only, and the player does not currently play in SDL, you may do so for a fee of $25.
Steps to add a player:
Send an email to sdl.dysp@gmail.com indicating the complete name of the player and their date of birth; you will receive a reply with the next steps and payment due, if any. Provided payment is received no later than 5 p.m., on Wednesday, the week of the game, and the other initial steps completed, the player may play that weekend.
