HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD TO PLAY SDL?

Players are registered through the participating club/team. You may find a list of clubs participating in SDL by clicking on FIND AN ACADEMY.

WILL YOUR CHILD PLAY FOR MORE THAN ONE CLUB?

A parent whose child intends to play for more than one club as an academy player must formally communicate the request to the SDL commissioner. This is done by having the manager of the child's primary team complete the SDL USCS player loan form found under league forms on the website. The manager will complete their section of the form and give it to the parent to take to the second team's manager. That manager will then complete their section and fax it to the SDL hotline number (866.204.1939). The SDL Commisioner will review the form for approval and provide it back to the team sending the fax. The child will be counted toward the total Team Roster Fee that is due. Please note, the SDL will not schedule around players participating for more than one team.

CAN MY CHILD SWITCH TO ANOTHER CLUB’S TEAM OR PARTICIPATE WITH ANOTHER CLUB’S TEAM AFTER THE SEASON BEGINS?

A parent may not switch a player to another club's SDL active league roster after the first scheduled league game. The league discourages players adding or switching to another club's SDL team after the season begins; experience has shown that such actions often have unintended consequences and can be disruptive; please keep in mind, most if not all clubs offer open skill sessions each week that would provide a good understanding of how well your child likes the program and coach(s). Players are able to switch between seasons and may participate with another team in a US Club Soccer sanctioned tournament where permitted by the tournament.

CAN MY CHILD PLAY FOR MULTIPLE TEAMS WITHIN THE SAME CLUB?

Yes, for age-appropriate teams, a club may allow players to cross-over either on a regular basis or to fill in where circumstances may prevent a team from playing at full strength with substitutes. The player is only counted toward the Team Roster Fee to the extent that the club needs the player to fill the minimum roster requirement for the team(s).
